very nice, Lloyd!
H0 axles with H0 alunium wheels? What tires? -
Thank you.
Peter, the wheels and tyres are from static resin kits such as Provence Moulage and I buy them on Ebay.
Regards, Lloyd.

Wow realy cool Cars!

To extend the wheelbase with a brass plate instead of plastic is an excellent idea, because this way you provide a good ( partial, at least ) balance to the weight of the motor.
You live and learn....Is National Hot Rods an existing race series in the UK - possibly vintage ? I like the concept of freely - customized cars.
Well done, Sir !
Roland
I forgot - can Julian print white ?
-
Hello Roland, thank you for your nice comments.
Because the motor is still near the track even with the larger wheels, these chassis handle well on plastic track.
Yes, National Hot Rod racing still exists, and is raced on small ovals, usually in stadiums.
Today the cars look like Opel Tigras and Peugeot 206cc. In the 1970s the cars were mainly Ford Anglias and Escorts. The two cars shown are the Anglia of George Polley and the Escort of Barry Lee, whoo were the great rivals of the time.
The Anglia is shown in the colours it was in when George won the 1976 world championship. Although it is a 'non contact' sport, the cars did not stay looking this smart for long!
Julian's wife makes the decals. I think that she prints the colour of the car onto white decal paper, I do not think she can print white. I will ask, but I think that is what he told me.
Regards, Lloyd.

I love such special oval series. One of the reasons that I combined the roadcourse with an oval on my track.
Remember these cars ? I ran a couple of races with them in GB, and now they are one of the closer future projects...Good old Slotstox...
Roland
n.b: Considering your two NHR cars, what luck that I did dot dispose all those old H0 chassis lying about here yet...
Regards,
RolandI forgot - would you please be so kind as to ask Julian resp. his wife about the white printing ? I was amazed about it on the Anglia.
-
Hello Roland, those superstox look impressive. We are hoping to have some to show next year.
The Micro Scalextric chassis conversion is easy and inexpensive to do and they run very well, non maget, on plastic tracks. They may need a little extra weight on wood tracks.
Both ran well today, so now I am making body mounts for them.
I will post photos of the finished chassis later.
Regards, Lloyd.
